CAG Hydrocolloids Biotec Exports 3 Tons of High-Performance Gellan Gum for Plant Tissue Culture Media

CAG Hydrocolloids Biotec Exports 3 Tons of High-Performance Gellan Gum for Plant Tissue Culture Media

GESOLGEL MTC – The Clear Choice Over Traditional Agar for Micropropagation and Research

Hangzhou, China – [2026.09.28] – CAG Hydrocolloids Biotec, a leading supplier of premium hydrocolloid ingredients, today announced the successful export of 3 tons of GESOLGEL MTC, a plant tissue culture grade low acyl gellan gum. This shipment will support overseas laboratories and commercial nurseries in producing high-clarity, reliable solid media for plant micropropagation, callus culture, and somatic embryogenesis.

Why GESOLGEL MTC?

Derived from the controlled fermentation of Sphingomonas elodea, GESOLGEL MTC is specifically engineered to replace traditional seaweed-derived agar in plant tissue culture. It delivers:

  • Exceptional Optical Clarity: Forms sparkling clear gels (transmittance ≥80% at 0.5%), allowing easy observation of root development and early detection of contamination.

  • High Gel Strength: ≥1100 g/cm² at 0.5% concentration, ensuring a firm, brittle matrix at very low use levels (typically just 2–5 g/L).

  • Superior Heat Stability: Withstands autoclaving at 121°C without loss of gelling performance, making it fully compatible with standard sterilization protocols.

  • Low Impurity Profile: Minimal heavy metals (total ≤20 mg/kg) and free from phenolic inhibitors commonly found in agar, which is especially critical for sensitive species like orchids, banana, grape, and woody plants.

  • Rapid Gelling & Thermal Reversibility: Convenient for media preparation while maintaining structural integrity during plant growth.

Simple Preparation, Consistent Results

GESOLGEL MTC disperses easily in cold or room-temperature water. After adding medium components and adjusting pH (typically 5.6–5.8), the mixture is heated to boiling or autoclaved. It is then poured into culture vessels at 50–60°C to solidify. No special equipment or additives are required, though gel strength can be fine-tuned by adjusting divalent cations (Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺) based on the specific formulation.

Quality Assurance

Every batch is manufactured under strict controls and tested against enterprise specifications. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is provided, confirming compliance with key parameters including particle size (≥98% pass 60 mesh), whiteness (≥76%), loss on drying (0–14%), and microbiological safety (total bacterial count ≤10,000 cfu/g, absence of pathogens). Packaged in 25 kg cartons or drums with double PP bags, the product has a shelf life of 24 months when stored in a cool, dry place.

Global Supply, Trusted Expertise

This 3-ton export underscores CAG Hydrocolloids Biotec’s commitment to serving the international plant science community. Backed by robust export experience and a dedication to quality, we ensure timely delivery and reliable technical support for customers across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.
